Hiking the Ruby's

Today we went for a little hike in the Ruby Mountains.  We have lived here for over two years and have never even been up there.  We've driven to Lamoille which is beautiful but never stopped at the national park that is only about a half hour away.  Kevin has had two weeks off of school so we decided to take advantage of his last free weekend for a while and do something! We packed a lunch and loaded everything in the car.  It was a beautiful day, the sun was out but not too hot and a little breeze.  Drake did great, he walked about half of the way up and then got fussy so we stopped for lunch on some rocks and then decided to head back down, we didn't finish the trail because drake was getting tired but next time we'll know where to go and maybe get an earlier start! He rode in the carrier the whole way down and almost fell asleep but didn't so we decided to play in the little stream by the parking lot, which he loved!

After he fell in... it was shallow and he could stand in it, he just got soaked!
Huckleberry Finn splashing in the water!

August 2013

I know these titles are super lame but I hate coming up with new ones and it helps me keep a timeline when I go back. August started with Drake and I still in Colorado.  Kevin went back to work and I stayed to work for my dad while he went on high adventure with the scouts and my brothers.  It was a good experience to work for him.  I learned a lot and of course made some mistakes.  Thankfully my sister was there to help with Drake, I stayed pretty busy answering phone calls most of the day and doing billing and such.  I am so grateful that I can stay home with Drake and our future children.  It is my favorite job!

This was at the Airport, I had lots of snacks and lots of toys to play with and stay busy.  Our flight ended up being delayed for two hours so we didn't leave denver until 10:30 and arrived in Salt Lake about midnight and still had the drive to Elko.  Drake and I pretty much walked around on the flat escalators for two straight hours and he still didn't fall asleep.  So I was exhausted and so was he but not sleep! Thankfully our flight attendant was a life saver and so sweet and gave drake a cup with a stir stick and some ice that kept him busy almost the whole flight.  I was so grateful for her.
Popcorn maybe wasn't the best snack to let him have on his own haha he loved it though!
He insisted on sitting in his play toy.  His knee almost touches the ground haha
 Monkey arms and diaper wedgie!
Lately he is obsessed with putting things between his toes! The other morning he had toast for breakfast so I said something to him about his toast and he reached over his tray to grab his toes! I guess they sound pretty similar.
He loves to play with his toy vacuum lately.  He hasn't touched it for months and I actually thought about getting rid of it but one day after I vacuumed he just walked over and grabbed it and pretty much didn't put it down for two days straight.

I love this happy little boy.  He really is such a good baby (can I still cal him that?).  He stays so busy all day that some days I just feel like sitting on the couch but he just wont let me.  He runs everywhere, hardly ever walks.  He signs more all the time now and has started to say "mo" with it. To him more just means he wants something, so he'll walk into the kitchen and point at the counter and sign more and I have no idea what he wants.  If I pick him up he's pretty good at showing me exactly what he needs. He also signs all done by waiving his hand parallel to the ground.  He said Bye- bye the other day and water.  He'll say mom and dad and Hi and he babbles like crazy.  He loves his blankie and his binkie still.  He is down to one nap a day but some days he'll nap for three plus hours.  Mostly just two though, I can't complain.  He'll be so busy playing that around nap time I just say lets go nah night, you ready to go nah night? He'll drop what he's doing and go to his crib and try and climb in and that's the last I hear from him  for a few hours.  He's a good eater still.  Still doesn't like tomatoes but he loves watermelon and most fruit, loves chicken nuggets and fries and dr pepper! I only let him have a few sips of mine and then its water or milk for this boy! He loves veggies, especially corn on the cob, corn dogs, cheese, gogurt and mac and cheese and usually anything we're eating.  He loved spaghetti squash the other night.  He keeps us laughing and smiling all the time.  We're so grateful Heavenly Father sent him to our family.  We truly are the luckiest.

July 2013

He insisted on going to bed with dad's calculator when I went in to check on him this is how I found him!
 He is always so happy!
Playing the keyboard! I took this picture and when I looked at it I thought "Where did my baby go? and who is this little boy" He really is getting so big! While I love this stage, (along with every other stage) I do miss the baby days!
He loves to empty out the dvds and sit in the basket.
We went to Utah for the 4th of July and up to Lewiston for their parade. Drake loved it and threw several fits over holding/ eating his candy.

Just watching the Lorax, He only watches the songs and then goes to play while the rest is going and comes back to hear the songs.

Just wearing moms scarf. He thought he was so funny!

He needed his hair cut so badly and I finally got around to it.  He hated it though, so i don't know how things will go the next time around.
morning snuggles!
He found his belly button! It was pretty much the cutest thing i've ever seen!
 Helping mom make breakfast!

He hated Uncle Chandler's moped.  We went out to Colorado at the end of the month for my brother Chandler's farewell.  We had a lot of fun visiting and exploring a new house and the outside.  He loves to be outside so much.  That is one thing I really hate about our apartment is it would be nice to have a backyard.  We have a front porch that we play on usually everyday but it just doesnt cut it for my adventurous little one!
He loved the wagon rides from Uncle Tanner
Watching the fireworks on the 4th
He was not thrilled about the sparklers

Splash pad fun.
Up Providence canyon for smores and hot dogs, Drake loved the dirt of course and hot dogs! No bun though, he would pick the bun off and throw it on the ground.

He was so tired that on the four wheeler ride home he fell asleep. Gah! I loved it.  Its only a few minute drive and I would wedge him between Kevin and I and we would go slow so I felt pretty safe.

Jumping on the mattress, he thought it was the greatest thing ever!
When we were in Colorado he found my sister's american girl doll chair and tried to sit on it and was getting very frustrated that it kept falling over.

That pretty much sums up July, we were so busy in July I feel like it lasted two days.  It was good to keep us busy though!

Its that time again

Time to catch up in the blogging world of the Jessops.  I do this every few months and then completely forget about the blog and then I go through my pictures to remember what we've been up to.  We've basically skipped the whole summer! We've been both busy and laid back both of which have been very lovely.
Being reverent in church, a rare occurrence. Although we dont have to take him out as often which is nice.  There are a few screams usually in sacrament but we push through.

 trying on mom's necklaces
Worn out after the park, asleep with pen in hand.

He got into the oatmeal and had a blast playing with it.  Thankfully it is easy to vacuum! I sure love my little mess maker.
headphones and duck calls, what else do you need?
We were out for a walk and he went straight for the Brough's house.  They're such great friends and drake loves them! He knows exactly which apartment is theirs.

 Snuggles with dad, i'm jealous

Putting his whole self in the trunk of the car.
Throwing a fit because he keeps pushing the car into the table.  It was nap time.
We met some friends in Salt Lake and had a girls weekend, Drake loved the fountains at city creek!

We visited the children's museum, and he loved it! I wish there was something like this in Elko to do.

That same weekend my family ended up coming out so we had a fun time playing with them! Drake loved the play place at City creek.

My sister came home with us and Drake loved it! She was so awesome to have around.  The best Aunt a girl could ask for.

This is drake's "mmmm" face.  If I ask him if something is yummy he makes this face and says "mmm"
 Sewing lessons!
He loved having a back seat buddy and definitely missed her when she left.

Playing with the cat in lewiston, he thinks it's the greatest thing ever.  and the cat is so nice to just let the kids grab him and tug it's tail.
He just brought me his flip flops and thought he needed to wear them while he played.
I put him down for his nap one morning and he was in there screaming so I went to check on him and this is how I found him. We both had a good laugh about it! Silly boy!

 Lots of time spent outside.
Playing peek-a-boo with his friend Trent.
Kevin and I were both in bed one night, he was doing homework and I was reading.  I heard him start to breath really hard and was about to ask him why he was breathing so hard, (He tends to breath hard when he's concentrating) When I looked over and found him fast asleep hands on the computer and all haha Kevin has been such a hard worker This last year, He has made it through a year of his MBA and has one more year to go (woot woot!!!) He does this all while working full time and getting up at 4:00am He is such a hard worker and I am so proud of him.  There are weeks where we're both ready to throw in the towel but He still manages to do all that and have time for us, he really is the best!
Playing in the mud. He wanted to touch it but got so mad that it wouldn't come off his finger.
 Kicking the soccer ball around.
If we say "Let's go bye bye" he goes to the door.  One sunday I said it before we were actually ready to leave and he got mad at me because he wanted to get out of there! So now I only say it when we are walking out the door.  That and "outside" are two words we have to be careful with unless we are really headed outside.

That was all of June pretty much summed up! We stayed pretty busy and spent a lot of time outside in the hot weather.
