Several months have passed since I updated the blog the biggest thing that happened was we bought a house!! It was really spur of the moment and happened really quickly but we are loving it. Initially when we moved to elko we were planning on staying for one year and then Kevin was going to go to Dental school but plans changed. we decided to stay in elko, Kevin decided to get his MBA instead of go to dental school. We were in a tiny two bedroom apartment and when we had decided to stay for only a year the tiny apartment wasn't so bad. I could handle anything for a year right? When we decided to stay and had Drake it became more and more crowded. We decided that we should wait until after Kevin was done with school before we bought a house. After two and a half years in the apartment i was starting to lose it! I had decided that something needed to change so one day kevin came home from work and we talked about something changing there were three options that I could see happening. One, move to a bigger apartment. Two, buy a storage shed to free up space. Three, buy a house. I figured Kevin would go for option one or two and was completely okay with that. When he told me to start looking for houses I was shocked. I was like are you sure?? Because i'm calling a realtor on Monday and if we start looking you can't take it back. So he gave me to go-head and I started to look, we figured it would take several months to find a house in elko because they are few and far between. After the first five houses I figured it was going to take just as long. There was one house that I wasn't even going to look at but I liked the kitchen so I decided to just go see. When I walked in I was a little shocked, I was not expecting it from the pictures. I called Kevin and told him I found a house and wanted him to go look at it with me. We went back later that night and he liked it too so we started the process and got the keys on Halloween. Thankfully our good friends the Brough's were so helpful and helped us move our whole house. Kevin's parents came that weekend to help clean our apartment and put things away. All so helpful.
For Thanksgiving we were in Utah and spent it with Kevin's family. I think I got some pictures but they were on my other phone and cant find them but we had a great time. I will skip straight to Christmas pictures. Santa brought Drake some tools, like dad's, below he is showing papa his drill!
This guy is so handsome! and he got new glasses so he's showing them off to me.
This handsome guy also spoiled me for Christmas giving me a new iphone and a garbage disposal! I really didn't know that there was such a thing as a sink without a garbage disposal until after we were married and I have never had to live without one. let me tell you, they are a luxury! Really gross to not have one so I am really excited about the disposal and have been loving it! Also, super nice that my husband is handy!
At the festival of lights. Its only like ten cars but still when something happens in elko its a big deal and we had fun seeing the lights.
Laying on my lap! This rarely happens so I had to capture the moment.
