the new year adventures

first off sooooo many pictures.  But I always love blogs with lots of pictures and thats how I want to look back and remember, is by pictures so heres some pictures of late...

He loves mooch's dog kennel. He also loves mooch he always asks me when we go somewhere if we're going to see mooch.
I had to document this.  When we got married I swear everyone and their dog gave us like sparkling cider or some sort of "fancy" drink but none of them were screw off tops.  We didn't have a bottle opener and it got annoying fast so we went to ross a few days after we got married and I saw this lovely bottle opener for $1 so naturally I had to buy it.  Turns out we've used it maybe twice since then. Kevin has always given me crap for this purchase so when drake broke it we were heart broken.  Just a newly wed inside joke I guess.
Drake loves to play outside and he loves his rain boots so we bundle up and adventure out at least once a week when its cold.  Way more when its warm.
He loves his drill and safety goggles.

he's "fixing" the door for me
Just coloring on a sunday morning
 He loves dads ear plugs!
Look at his long curly hair! Just before his haircut.
Like I said, he loves to be outside, especially when Kevin is working in the yard.

Poor guy got sick and he just looks so sad here. I hate it when he's sick. I thought he might fall asleep in the bathtub.  High fever and double ear infection :(
He loves these carts and always does so good if he can sit in one of these while we grocery shop.  He feels like he's helping push the cart I think.

 He also loves his stories.
 Dressing up like a lion
 Drake loves my sewing machine!

See the rain boots? Loves them.
I found baby Kevin! look how little he is!

He's a little unclear about where chap stick goes

Look at him crossing his ankles! I had to go to the dr because I had an ear infection and I ended up waiting for two hours. Drake did so good thankfully.

 Future doctor?

He loves to help shovel the walk and LOVES to throw ice melt on the driveway.  The other day the driveway was just wet and he went outside with dad to take the garbage cans out.  After they were finished with that they were going to go get the mail so kevin was confused when he walked back into the garage. He grabbed a handful of ice melt and throws it on the driveway all by himself and then looks at Kevin with a huge grin!
A rare moment when he snuggles with mom so I had to capture it!

He's crying because there are no more blueberries, he ate them all. He loves his fruit!

Making his cookies that Grandma Karen sent.

Ignore my mug, Drake's smile was just too cute!
He loves Kelli, playing darts and playing with nerf guns at her house.
Happy Valentine's day Kev, here's a shop vac.  We're romantic around here.

Big boy wearing his backpack.  He didn't take it off for like three hours. I started tearing up thinking about him going to school someday. Growing up way too fast!

He loves to play in the sink

Getting Yogurt everywhere.  Thankfully it was such a beautiful day we could change into shorts (in february!!) and go play outside.

 Showing mom his muscles

He loves to climb on these railings! Adventurous boy!

CRAFTS and PROJECTS
I've been super crafty lately.  Maybe because I have more space and I feel like if I craft it doesn't take up my whole house so here are a few of the things i've done as well as projects we've done on the house.
Tea towels. I've loved these and there are so many cute things you can do on them.

This is my canvas.  I saw this canvas on sale for $7 at Ross. It's pretty much the ugliest thing ive ever seen, but I figured for seven dollars I can't really go wrong, right? Or if I hated it, I wasn't out much.  I used white house paint for the bottom coat and some craft paint I got at home depot by martha stewart. At first I just did the two big triangles but I felt like there was too much white space on the side so I added more and did not like that.  After I filled those in I liked it!

 Final result.
We'd been in the house for almost four months before I decided to finally hang things.  This is Drake's room.

Our garage door was horrible.  First of all it was this nasty green color.  Second, the motor was probably thirty years old and you couldn't open it unless you were like two feet away.  There was also a huge dent in the top panel and it was all around sketchy.  Our plan was to just paint it and then wait a few years before replacing it.  We figured it would be several thousand dollars but when we looked into it, it was cheaper than we expected so we decided to go ahead and just do it.  Now I need to paint my shutters.  Those can't stay.
 It looks so much better!
Growth chart for Drake and future jessop babies!
Drake loved this one.  I've seen the toilet paper rolls around pinterest but think they look weird just the cardboard so I've been saving them and a paper towel roll and just cut the paper towel roll in half length wise and glued cute craft paper to them.  I also saved an empty tissue box  for the bottom.  We just take pom poms and drop them through the rolls and they go through the maze and land in the tissue box and drake has had a blast with it.  Thank you pinterest!
